Winka is interviewed by LookBooks editor Cator Sparks

Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

LookBooks Media, a fashion, architecture, and design resource recently profiled Winka and Archi-Tectonics for their news section. Here’s an excerpt:

“The title ‘Architect’ usually conjures up either Starchitect’s with huge egos or old cantankerous men who dawdle sketches on paper all day in serious seclusion. So when I walked into the offices of Winka Dubbeldam’s firm Archi-Tectonics and a giant Golden Retriever nearly knocked me over eager for a playmate I was pleasantly surprised. A lively young man offered me water and then the woman herself popped out of an office tossing up a Nespresso capsule looking at me with a smile and a wink offering to make me a cappuccino to get me through our interview. Clearly this woman breathes a breath of fresh air into the industry”

First Unit Finally Closes at Tribeca’s Long-Delayed V33

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

We knew Winka Dubbeldam could do it! It took about a million years for Vestry Street building V33 to reveal itself (okay, not quite: it hit the market way back in spring 2007). But it finally hit its stride (maybe with help from Lady Gaga?)—as of May, every unit was in contract. And now the first one has closed! Apartment #4 (floorplan above), once asking $6.45 million, has sold for $5,294,900. The buyers are Paula and Craig Sutter—perhaps the same Paula Sutter who is president of Diane Von Furstenberg. Say it with us: Dubbel-dam!
